Kathy is a Licensed independent Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and obtained a Master of Arts Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Kathy appreciates working with teens, adults, and families, in a broad range of ages. She has a wide variety of experience working with clients with depression, anxiety, personality disorders, self-harm/ suicidal ideation, substance/ alcohol use, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, ADHD, grief and loss, disordered eating and more.Kathy has experience in group work, clinical management, chemical dependency, residential settings, and school settings in addition to outpatient clinic experience. Kathy also has training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), strengths-based approaches, and dual disorders of substance use/ mental health. Kathy sees the client as the true “specialist” in their own life and she sees herself as a funnel and mentor along the way. She likes to use humor and be authentic and genuine in the therapy process. Kathy brings her lived experience as a single mom, who raised three children on her own. She enjoys music, camping, animals (Dexter, cat and Lacy, dog) traveling, and spending time with her family.
