Do I need a prescription for orthotics?
We DO NOT require a prescription for orthotics at our office. However if you plan on being reimbursed for custom orthotics by your extended health plan or claiming them as a medical expense, it is recommended you get a prescription before casting. What is entailed with a New Patient examination?
A New Patient examination is a thorough history, intake and muscle testing combined with soft- tissue manipulation to help the Doctor get their diagnosis and understand your case. From there they recommend the plan of care. At every step of the way in our exam process we explain what is happening and what we are doing do ensure that you are comfortable, and at the end it is your decision whether you proceed with the plan of care.
